The Warland Award celebrates hybridity and excellence in literary achievement with the support of Vancouver Writers Fest. Each year, the Blending Genres panel welcomes authors whose books span genres to be in conversation with one another. Making space for books, whether they are submitted to the Warland Award for consideration or not, is an act of support for all authors who are pushing the limits of what their work can do.
This yearly event has been attended annually by Betsy Warland, whose extemporaneous remarks set the tone for the discussion of craft and discipline. We’ve been lucky to have our judges in attendance, too!
